Bachelor in Electrical Power Engineering(Hons)

   First of all, I would like to welcome all the visitor of this blog. I am here to talk about courses offered in Uniten. I will write about more detail about the course called Bachelor of Electrical Power Engineering (Hons) .There are lots of energetic academicians and well experienced lecturers in Electrical Power Engineering field in Uniten. So Uniten have come to offer Bachelor in Electrical Power Engineering to its students.

  The duration for this course is 5 years including one year of Foundation in Electrical Power Engineering and must pass foundation with CGPA 2.00. Students from this course learn how to deal with the generation, transmission and distribution of electric power as well as the electrical.

  Uniten also provide laboratory for electrical power engineering student to test on their practical side. These are the few laboratories provided in Uniten such as Digital Logic Design Lab, Robotic and Control laboratory and so on.

As conclusion, by offering this course Uniten generate students that contribute to develop new methods and new technology for efficient and environmental friendly energy system. this programme structure is designed for those who is interested in careers in modern electrical and power engineering. In additional, the graduates should be able to acquire and apply knowledge of science and engineering fundamentals and they should be able to identify, formulate and solve engineering problems, to communicate effectively and to understand professional and ethical responsibilities. Lastly, this programme able to produce graduates with high personal skills such as time management and presentation skills. The graduates from this course can be a successful testing engineers, design engineer and also construction engineer.

BACHELOR of Electrical/Electronic Engineering(Hons).




  Now, let me brief about programme called Bachelor of Electrical/Electronic Engineering. The main objective of this programme is the student who take this course should be able to actively committed to electrical engineering activities such as electronic design, communications, control and power generation power transmission and power distribution.

  The duration for this course is same like bachelor in Electrical Power Engineering which is 5 years including one year of Foundation in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and must pass foundation with CGPA 2.00.

Other than that, to those who take this course will have their very own qualification in electrical related areas and also able to hold senior engineering positions in well-known companies.

  As conclusion, the demand for Electrical and Electronic Engineering is in very good demand either in private sector or goverment sector. Bachelor of Information System and Bachelor of Graphics and Multimedia

University Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), one of the recognised university in world , offering few programmes for students who indeed to specialise in certain field. Here, we going to talk about programmes that offered in IT (Information Technology) field which are Bachelor of Information System (BIS Hons) and Bachelor of Graphics and Multimedia (BGM Hons). To pursue studies in Bachelor programme, students must do their foundation course first. Uniten also offers Foundation in Information Technology course for students with O-Level or SPM qualification. Students who did foundation in University Tenaga Nasional needs a minimum requirement of 2.0 CGPA to pursue their degree. For students who did their foundation in other university needs a minimum requirement of 3.0 CGPA. For students who have STPM and A-Level, they must have atleast 2.5 CGPA to pursue degree course in UNITEN.

Bachelor of Information System

       Bachelor of Information System, the course for students who has interest in programming and graphics field. Students will be thought about both these fields in detail. Student will be thought about core programming languages like C programming and for graphics they will be thought how to create and use Flash Video and Adobe. Students also will be thought fundemantal subjects for programming like Fundemantals of Software Engineering which will be very useful in developing programme. This course will be very interactive as students will deal with the latest software that available now.

Bachelor of Graphics and Multimedia

        Bachelor of Graphics and Multimedia, as the name, this course is mainly focus on graphics and multimedia. Students deals with all kind graphics and multimedia software as their course is mainly focused in graphics. In the 3 years course, student will be developed with various skills and techniques on developing graphics and multimedia. Students will use various software on developing graphics like Adobe, Flash and Photoshop. For final year project, students need to develop any multimedia based project which include graphics knowledge that been thought for the 3 years.

In the other hand, UNITEN provide accomodation facilities to students. There are 4 apartments for students accomodation, 2 for boys and 2 for girls. Besides, students will be provided with loan for their studies like PTPTN and YTN. For students who excel in studies, they will be given scholarships as a reward. YTL Power Generation Scholarship, SEV scholarship and ECM Libra study loan are some of the companies that provide scholarships to excellence students. Many facilities also provided for students in the campus itself so that they do not feel bored. Facilities like swimming pool, gym, futsal court, driving range and pool center are build within the campus itself. For daily needs, there are several food court and grocery shop build for students within the campus compound.

       Studying in UNITEN will be very fun and interactive. All the lecturers in the university are qualified and experienced lecturers. Students also will be provided with interactive studying material so that they wont feel studying is boring. In career needs,UNITEN graduates becomes the first choice for most of the companies because they aware that UNITEN graduates are exposed with many learning techniques and skills.

Bachelors of Software engineering and Bachelors of System and Networking

Bachelors of Software engineering

An alternative course which organised by Uniten is Bachelors of Software engineering. The duration of this course is three years which consists of nine sem. There is six long sem’s and two short sem’s. This two short sem’s are a compulsory for this course as the duration of the sem are only nine sem’s compare to engineering subjects. There, their complete duration is four years with nine sem so the short sem is not a compulsory for them.

Furthermore, in order to take these course students need to come from a foundation, A-levels, STPM or matriculation background. For the foundation background, Uniten do organise a foundation program called Foundation of Computer Science. To enter this program students need to come from a science stream background with its minimal requirement which is credit in BM,BI, mathematics, additional mathematics and physics. On the other hand, to enter into bachelors program students need to have a minimal 2.00 pointer of the background.

This course are a combined aspect of technical, soft skills and ethics where students will be taught on software project management, programming, information security, secure programming, human computer interaction, software testing, software engineering, JAVA programming. On top of that object oriented, artificial intelligence, computer networks, operating systems, discrete structures, database subjects are also covered as they are the foundation subjects in computer science.

Coming on the course, this course is a wise chosen course as now days more and more technology is depending on computers and man power base on IT intelligent. In conclusion, choosing this course is wise choice so, be strong on your ambition and choose software engineering as your default occupation.

Bachelors of System and Networking

Another alternative course which organised by Uniten is Bachelors of  System and Networking.Same as above the duration and the prerequirement to enter Uniten are as above. This is because this both course is nearly interelated which comes under the course of Computer Science.

On the financial issue, there are no worries on it as there is a lot of organisation which are helping on Uniten student. There are few scholarship programs for example Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman scholarship, YTN scholarship, Genting Power Scholarship, Mudajaya Scholarship, JPA and lastly PTPTN loan and scholarship. So, in financial wise students don’t need to worry about it and focus on studies only.
Besides that, Uniten has a very good and experienced lecturer. Lecturers from overseas and local experts are hired to teach Uniten students for a quality and worth full teaching environment and skills. In fact, there will be transportation provided to all students from their hostel to their faculty as scheduled time to time. So, students don’t need to worry on the distance and transportation inside campus.
The objective of this course is to teach on students on professional careers on areas of communications and networking, operating systems, mobile and embedded technologies, computer security, artificial intelligence and other related areas. In this program the a syllabus of CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Administrator) are embedded within several subject of this course. Where student will be certificated if they had passed in the CCNA exam.
Furthemore, graduate from this course can be employed in various path of ICT, for example Computer Scientist, System Analyst, Programmer, Software Engineer, Web Master, Web Designer, Network Administrator, System Designer, Project Manager, Lecturer, Database Designer and Administrator.
In conclution, the main benefit of this course is students can be certified by CCNA which is a strong international certification. It is very useful when finding a job from the IT related industry. Therefore, this course is a worth and highly demanded course in the IT related studies.

Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING


One of the courses here prepared for Uniten students is Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering(Hons).The course was provided with excellent learning environment with great facilities along with teaching staffs that has an expertise over a broad range of subject areas.


Such areas which includes mechanics and materials, thermal engineering, and manufacturing systems were applied in its research and teaching activities.This programme also offers the following programmes, Master of Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. in Engineering.

These are one of the projects that need to be done by the mechanical engineering students.They have to build a bridge using the tools and certain superiority given by their lecturers.

This is another project by the mechanical students where they need to  do some 3D  modelling using the Pro E software.This shows that Uniten does not just focus on practical skills of engineering, they also focus on the importance of IT between engineering students.

CIVIL ENGINEERING


Another course served in Uniten as a part of enhancing professionals engineers in Malaysia is Bachelor of Civil Engineering.As a start, the undergraduate students will have to finish their foundation in engineering which they have to create a strong base for mathemathics, physics and chemistry course before they can proceed to this program.Once they enter second year of the programs, the students will learn these fundamental courses in the field of civil engineering with continuously devepoling 11 laboratories.


Those courses includes Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Water Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Project Management and Construction.


Not only that, the students will also learn the technical courses as well as applying some computer skills throughout the program such as Computer Programming and Computer Aided Designand Engineering to create multiple skills indivuduals and able to adapt with the challenges ahead.They will also study Bahasa Malaysia language, technical communication, moral/religious studies and humanities so that other than become a capable individual in the world of civil engineering, they will become an ethical one.
